Give A Presentation - Preparation

When you know you are give a presentation, get started straight away. Don't leave it to the last minute. Rarely are these last minute rush jobs as good as a presentation where some thought and time has been put into it.

Planning a presentation starts with determining a clear reason for presenting. The clearer the reason the more effective the presentation is likely to be.

Know your audience and know your stuff - research thoroughly

Next is deciding on the 3 - 5 main points you are going to cover in your presentation and how you are going to put them across. Will you use PowerPoint slides? How many are you going to use?

Writing an outline of your presentation will help you get your thoughts in order, and give you a chance to organize your material into a logical structure.
